I went to the nature reserve park, De Hoge Veluwe, which was about a 30 minute back country drive from Eerbeek.  As soon as I parked the car and paid my entrance fee, I made my way to the bike cache.  At various locations around the park, there are “stations” with hundreds of what they call “white bikes”.  They are indeed white and they are free to use with your entrance fee to the park.  You just grab one and when you get to another place you want to stop, you leave it there and when it is time to jump on a bike again, you grab whatever one you want.

I biked around for about 4km enjoying the incredible weather and pretty scenery, a mix of meadows and forest, and made my way to the museum near the center of the park.   I am really glad I spent the extra money, 12 Euro, to visit the museum. It had many VanGoghs and other masters and an amazing and huge sculpture garden of mostly modern pieces and installations.

After the museum, I picked out a bike and started the journey back to the entrance and my car, about 3 km.  But I chose a bike that was too short for me and by the time I realized my mistake, I was already halfway there so it did not make sense to turn around.  I tried adjusting the seat but it was either unadjustable or I was too dumb to figure it out so the next 1.5km felt like I was doing squats the whole way.

I spent the next day just walking the many forest trails around the bungalow park and working before I took my aunt to the airport the next day.
